At WiLoKi Dance Center, our Lyrical Program offers dancers a powerful and expressive outlet that blends the fluidity of ballet with the emotional storytelling of contemporary movement. Lyrical dance encourages students to connect music and movement with heart, telling stories and expressing emotions through dance.

Ages & Levels

Our Lyrical Program is open to students ages 7 and up, starting with Level 2 and progressing through Level 4. Each level builds on technique, control, and expression while challenging students to grow artistically and technically.

🗓 Two-Semester Season Structure

WiLoKi operates on a two-semester season model:

  • Fall Semester: Skill-focused and centered around technical and expressive development along with creation of a Lyrical Storybook Series.

  • Spring Semester: Performance-focused and culminating in our Spring Recital-Showcase.

The Lyrical Program follows this structure, giving students focused time to refine skills and then share them in a polished performance experience.

📖 Lyrical Storybook Series

To make our skill-focused semester even more engaging, the Lyrical Program follows a “Lyrical Storybook” format. Each semester is divided into three 6-week segments, and in each segment, students will explore and express a different emotional theme—such as hope, longing, joy, or peace—through choreography and movement exercises.

At the end of each 6-week segment, families are invited into the studio for a mini in-class performance, where dancers will showcase what they've learned in a short routine that captures the emotional story of that segment.

This creative and emotionally engaging approach helps dancers grow in both technical execution and artistic expression, while allowing families to watch their dancers’ growth along the way.
