🎤 Jazz-Funk Remix Program

Welcome to our Jazz-Funk Program — a dynamic and pop-culture-inspired experience where students learn to move like the stars of stage, screen, and music videos! This genre blends the sharp stylization of jazz with the commercial edge of funk, creating high-energy choreography that’s as fun to learn as it is to perform.

✨ Who It's For

Our Jazz-Funk classes are open to students age 7 and up, with levels ranging from Level 2 through Level 4. Each level offers age-appropriate challenges and choreography. Level 1 Jazz is available in our Jazz/Tap Combo class for ages 4–6, which lays the foundation for future Jazz-Funk training.

Students interested in a deeper performance experience are invited to audition for our Dance Company, which is rooted in jazz technique and expression. Our Level 5 Jazz class students also participate in dance video projects to further their performance training!

🎬 Skill-Focused Semester:

Jazz-Funk Remix — Iconic Moves & Music Video Moments

During the Fall Semester, our Jazz-Funk program enters its Skill-Focused Season, which is divided into three 6-week segments, each focused on mastering specific performance and stylistic skills.

Each segment is inspired by a mix of:

  • 🎥 TV & Film Dance Tributes
    Learn choreography inspired by iconic movie musicals and dance scenes.

  • 🎶 Music Video Moves
    Break down the sharp, stylized choreography from chart-topping music videos and award show performances.

At the end of each segment, families are invited to an in-studio showcase where students perform what they’ve learned in a fun, low-pressure environment.

🌟 Recital-Showcase Semester:

In the Spring Semester, students prepare a fully choreographed piece to be performed in our annual Recital-Showcase, where all leveled classes participate in a theater-style production for family and friends.

This semester balances continued technical development with the exciting challenge of preparing for a big performance.
