Dress Code
Below is our dress code for all types of classes.
We ask for all students to have their legs covered, either by tights, leggings, or athletic pants, depending on the class genre.
Hair should normally be pulled back for all classes, with the exception of hip hop and contemporary classes, while a bun is required for ballet classes.
No bare feet, except for contemporary class. Only wear clean shoes on the dance floors; do not track mud or rocks onto the floors.
We ask that all students have their stomachs mostly covered.
Mommy & Me, Tumbling Tots:
Ballet look with simple hair
Pink ballet slippers & tan tap shoes (ribbon tie style)
Leotard & tights – any color
Hair pulled back off of face
Ballet Classes:
Traditional ballerina look
Pink ballet shoes, preferably split soles
Leotard, with dance shorts or ballet skirt
Tan tights
Hair pulled back in a bun
Jazz Classes:
Athletic dancewear
Tan jazz shoes – preferably split soles; no jazz sneakers; Capezio brand recommended
Leotard, tights, dance shorts, tight athletic tanks or athletic leggings are suggested
No sweatpants, jeans or sweatshirts/hoodies
Hair pulled back off of face
Tap Classes:
We are transitioning to flat black tap shoes for all classes with a few exceptions.
Level 1 class must wear flat, Mary Jane style tap shoes with buckle straps or ties.
For level 2 class and above, wear flat black split sole, lace-up tap shoes.
Heeled/character shoe taps will be used by our Extended Option Competition Team Members, and highschool/adult dancers.

Hip Hop Classes:
A baggy street clothes look
Clean sneakers. (NOT to be worn outside; can be jazz sneakers or regular sneakers such as Converse)
Loose clothing such as sweatpants, no jeans
Sweatshirts and big t-shirts allowed
Hair may be down
Wear a flat bill hat
Lyrical Classes:
A clean look, similar to ballet, but slightly relaxed
Pirouettes shoes or Twyla half sole shoes (Color “Nude” or “Natural”)
Leotard, tights, dance shorts, jazz pants, athletic shorts (attached brief underneath), tight athletic tanks or tight athletic leggings are suggested
No sweatpants, jeans or baggy t-shirts
Hair pulled back off of face
Contemporary Classes:
Pirouettes shoes or Twyla half sole shoes, socks, or bare feet
Bottoms - May wear shorts with tights, leggings, or sweatpants
Tops - Baggy clothes such as large button down shirts, t-shirts, or sweatshirts
Hair may be down
Taekwondo Classes:
White Taekwondo Uniform
Coverage from collar bone to finger tips. Shirt should cover up to About collar bone (no chest showing, no bellies showing, no open back outfits) Crew Neck tank tops are fine also.
Legs must be covered, sweatpants are good if not wearing taekwondo uniform.
